Event ticket / invitation QR code

Put a QR on a printed invitation, a poster, or an email signature. Scanning it adds the event to the scanner’s calendar (iCal VEVENT format). Works in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook, and any app that understands the .ics format.

Why calendar-event QRs beat paper invites

A paper invite gives the recipient three options: forget it, lose it, or copy the date and time by hand into their phone. A QR skips all three. One scan, the event is in their calendar with location, description, and reminder set.

You can also encode the URL to a registration page, a venue map, or a livestream link — the same QR can be reused for a series of events if the underlying URL is stable.

Make this QR in 30 seconds

  1. Open the event QR generator
  2. Fill in event title, start time, end time, location, and description
  3. Download the PNG and print it on the invitation or poster
  4. Optional: include a URL in the description (registration page, venue map)
Open the generator pre-filled

Common questions

Which calendar apps support the encoded event?

Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook, and any iCal-compatible app. The encoded format is the iCalendar VEVENT standard (RFC 5545).

Can I add a URL to register for the event?

Yes. Put the URL in the description field. Most calendar apps will render it as a tappable link in the event details.
